Permanent hemodialysis catheter (Permicut)

When the kidneys fail, a person needs hemodialysis treatment, and to perform
hemodialysis, a way to access the blood vessels is needed.

Hemodialysis is a treatment in which waste materials and excess water are
removed from the blood. In order to do this, it is necessary to put the person’s
blood in the vicinity of the filter by the dialysis machine, so required a way to
access the person’s blood vessels, and the catheter is one of the access ways for
hemodialysis.

Types of hemodialysis catheters

Acute: They are generally known as Chaldon and are used for temporary access
and have a much shorter shelf life than Permicut.
Chronic: They are known as permicut and are used permanently.

Argon Permicut brand has three lumens, two arterial lumens and one venous
lumen. This design allows dialysis to be performed when one lumen is blocked by
the other lumen.

Two separate arterial lumens reduce the risk of sticking to the vessel walls. Also,
this catheter is made of carbon steel, which provides resistance to kinking,
increases the catheter’s lifespan, and provides softness and comfort to the
patient.
The clamps are ergonomically designed, which is resistant to connections. The
head of this catheter is fixed and helps to implant in a method without pilovischit.
Permicut Argon can be implanted under fluoroscopy or blindly, with or without a
pillow, which facilitates the use of the catheter not only in the operating room but
also in emergency cases.
